Cabin: Mid-Ship Oceanview Porthole Window

This was our second cruise with NCL, the first being on the Breakaway. The Pearl is smaller yet still has much to offer, and allows a more personable atmosphere. The decor of the Pearl was more visually appealing than the Breakaway with a glamorous appeal. It was also easy to navigate following a few trips.

We had a mid-ship oceanview porthole window on this cruise and were warned about its tightness. On our first cruise, we had a mid-ship mini-suite. Our room pleasantly surprised us, as it is perfectly designed so you didn't feel crammed. There was plenty of storage space and the bathroom was larger than expected. The bed was extremely comfortable and cozy.

NCL's biggest strength is their personal and friendly service. The staff treats all their patrons with the upmost respect and almost like royalty. We really were in awe of how special they made us feel, from attending to our needs to greeting us by name...we couldn't have imagined such great service.

Port Reviews

Seattle

We stayed for 2 days in Seattle following the cruise and it is a very cool city - highly recommend.

Glacier Bay

Simply amazing! This was the most surprising event of the entire cruise.

Ketchikan

Ketchikan is a cool place to just walk around and check out. Once you get beyond the touristy shops, it seemed to be very authentic Alaskan living. We really enjoyed the random totem poles scattered throughout the area.

Victoria

We were pleasantly surprised by how pretty Victoria was, as we didn’t know what to expect. The ship arrived at 6:00 pm, and we quickly got off and headed to Miniature World, a walkthrough tour of various sceneries from fantasy to real world. They were actually nice enough to make arrangements to be open that day after I emailed them. Unfortunately, our time in Victoria was limited due to the odd dock time and the onetime shows occurring on the ship that night.
