Friendly Fun Ship!

Sail Date: May 2009
Destination: Western Caribbean
Embarkation: Miami

The crew on this boat was extremely friendly and they new your name from day 1.   I completed an 'upscale' cruise this past fall and the service didn't even come close.  I was impressed with how clean the ship was kept as well.

The boat had a very nice layout, although a little difficult to navigate due to one of the main dining rooms in the center of the ship... of those can't get there from here kind of things.

Main dining was good overall.  Service was great, food was good.  I would recommend anytime dining in the gold dining room and arrive before 7:00, never have to wait for table and much less noise.  Noise in Silver dining room was very loud.  Cappacino in main dining wasn't very good, but was excellent in Harry's.  Desserts in all dining venues was not that impressive.

Specialty Dining in Harry's was excellent and well worth the $30 cover.  Nice quiet atmosphere and More very attentive services.  We were so impressed we went 3 nights.  The food was outstanding and you should arrive very hungry due to the number or courses and sizes of entrees.  If the cover bothers you, just put it in perspective of two martinis ($20) or a few spins on a slot machine.

Try to go the TEA service on the sea days in the afternoon at 3:30, great deserts and savory sandwiches.

Shows were not that impressive, although the late night comedian I heard was pretty good.

The pools were very small and shallow.  Lots of deck seating around the main pool and large screen entertainment which could be loud at times.  Bit disappointed in the pool amenities.

Drinks on board were pricey, but well made.

Spa amenities were not that impressive, but sauna and steam are free for use and very large with views of ocean.  Gym was huge.

Casino was large with lots of selection.  Could be very smoky at times and of course with all cruise lines, didn't payout very well.

The cooling/air system seemed to be a little on the low side for some reason, could only use the sheet at night or else too hot.  Seemed that way throughout the ship though.

I would definitely recommend this boat/cruise as a good value for the price. Less

Cabin review: Carnival Liberty Interior Empress 7240

Great storage, double closets, tall shelf cabinet and 4 drawers and two night stands.  Mirror and desk were nice sized.  The bathroom sink was large with lots of storage.  Small corner shower.

Port and Shore Excursions

A very fun place for those that like water sports or just to relax on the beach with a drink.

What can I say, but yuk.  Never did like this place but that's just my opinion.  Take a tour and get out of the town is my best recommendation.

Very nice place for snorkeling.  Take some bug spray for your feet at the beach and you'll be in good shape.  Get out of town and enjoy the clear water and beaches.
