We sailed on Caribbean Princess from Quebec to New York 2 October 2016. We have reached the top status – Elite – with Princess.
We had originally booked an oceanview cabin on Plaza Deck 5.
On checking with Princess Future Cruise Sales while on a cruise on the Sea Princess in January, I found that Princess had cancelled our booking but kept our deposit, and when our travel agent chased it up, Princess said there were no cabins left in that category.
Walked off the ship - everything in close proximity
Took a taxi - great driver Pauly D, who took us to all accessible places on the way to Lark Harbour and back
Left early by taxi to Peggy's Cove - brilliant reflections in the lakes and bays, resulting in fantastic photos.
Unfortunately ripped off by taxi driver who charged us in $US when all the taxi tours were quoted in CAD$. He would not change the currency and so the unexpected extra $CAD45 rather spoilt the experience.
Do not get into a black Dodge taxi with an ex-Egyptian called Joe!
A wet and foggy morning. Walked to the end of the town to the Farmers Market - very disappointing maybe 20 stalls. Totally dependent on tourism, there is a free shuttle bus available to tour the national park area.
Would be lovely on a sunny day.
Didn't get off the ship as we had been in Boston days earlier. There is nothing around the port area, absolutely nothing - just two vending machines - that's all.
We did the Red Trolley tour of the palatial homes, booked at the information centre - had a good guide, interesting information. Did a short walk around the tender docking area, very touristy, and not many bargains.
Taxi tour to St Andrews, Unfortunately most of this was on a freeway so no coastal scenery along the way. Very foggy morning (early October), low tide showed the mud flats.
The view sport for the Reversing Rapids was interesting though that day ther was not a great variation between high and low tides.
