This was my first experience with any kind of cruise and first visit to Europe. The prior experiences of a friend who had been on 4 of these river cruises with Viking was the main reason I booked this once-in-a-lifetime trip with my sister.

I felt the Viking organization in all facets to be excellent: the ship and its crew, the dining, the land excursions including city tours were interesting and the knowledgeable local guides were professional and in most cases quite entertaining as well. While under sail, it was only by looking out of the windows that you would know the ship was moving. Our fellow passengers were lovely people and because there were only 188 of us, it was a more intimate journey. There was no assigned seating for meals and people just gravitated towards the ones they would spend the most time with.

I particularly enjoyed the history of the cities we visited: Budapest, Hungary; Vienna, Austria; Krems, Austria; Passau, Regensburg and Nuremburg, Germany. I only wish there had been more time in Nuremburg, but I was delighted with all aspects of the land excursions.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

Very happy with the Veranda Stateroom (B). Clean and enough room but not crowded. Our cabin stewardess straightened the room nearly every time we left it. In the evening, after returning from dinner, the itinerary for the next day was placed on the bed.

Port Reviews

Regensburg

Another old world city but with unique charm. And the oldest sausage house in Germany! It too will be fondly remembered.
