Never sailed Carnival before and thought we give it a try and WE WILL NEVER AGAIN! At first we were very excited to board the ship. We got on they had drinks ready to go and the buffet was open. We then settled into our room and enjoyed watching the dolphins and getting to peruse the ship and learn where everything was at. Finally it was time for the muster drill and that's where it all went down hill. First it was very disorganized and HOT. We waited in haphazardly lines with 3000 of our newest best friends and we waited after about 15 minutes they come on and start part of the instructions and then stop. and we wait and finally they gave the rest and then only dismissed on side of the boat (not ours) and a woman nearly fainted because we had to stand so long in the heat while they did nothing!
Then it continues to get worse!
Ship was dirty. Every area! Food in the pools trash on the ground and no one cared!
We went to Playa Mia which is not an excursion offered by Carnival, but we have been several times and booked privately! Mario was our bartender and he was fabulous! We did massages on the beach and they can't be beat. They offer a full open bar and buffet. The food was excellent and we did a little shopping before we left. Playa Mia then had the taxi drop us off right back at the pier. Excellent day in Cozumel which was the only good thing about the carnival cruise.
Galveston is Galveston.
