Our family went on the MSC Divina on October 8th. We were supposed to go to Nassau but we went to Grand Turk instead because Hurricane Matthew had just passed through the area.

First the Good - The ship is absolutely beautiful. The common areas throughout the ship were wonderful, at every turn there was another eye popping view. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. This was an area that we were concerned about because of the reviews that we have seen on this site. With very few exceptions, the staff members that we met were smiling and cordial, not fake either as we have experienced on some ships. The ship was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. The main shows were very good every night. Read lots of reviews about the Michael Jackson show being outstanding.....I didnt get that. It was okay, but the other production shows were better, I thought. The room stewart that we had, was very good, it seemed like he was always working.

The Not So Good - The dining experience was disasterous. We ate in the dining room on the first night. It was, of course, beautiful The waiters that we had, never introduced themselves. When ordering, we had to point to the item on the menu, and the waiter had to squint to see it and then looked like he was copying it down on his note pad. The asst. waiter (I think that is what he was), asked me if i wanted a drink from the bar, and when i declined, he went away without giving the others an opportunity to order. We really didnt see him again. I asked for more bread and water, and the same thing happened, no one else was offered anything. The appetizer came and there were a few misses, but not a big deal. It was like they had never waited tables before - anywhere. The food was disappointing and barely warm. We gave them another chance a few nights later, but it was not any better. As a matter of fact when we came into the dining room (there were 8 of us), the waiter had a look of fear on his face. The buffet, was very pretty, however, they could have taken down some of the partitions and ornamental columns and added some tables. We could not find a table on a number of occasions. There were areas that were clogged with people as the flow just did not go well. The food, we thought was better on the buffet than in the dining room. The service was good, but there were constantly empty areas of the buffet so they needed to step up the replenishment of food and beverage. On the second to last day, they ran out of sugar packets so put a bin of sugar by the coffee with a spoon in it......what a mess.
