We wanted a Eastern Mediterranean cruise and after researching all the options for Sept-Oct, the Star Breeze itinerary and timing fit us best. We have previously sailed with RC on larger ships and now i can't imagine going back to the big ships. The intimacy of the ship, the crew, the food and the people we met on board exceeded our expectations of a cruise.

The ship seemed to be in great shape to us. Someone was constantly cleaning something at all hours of the day. The cabin (all suites!) was large with a big picture window, a walk-in closet and 2 sinks in the marble bathroom.

The food was wonderful. The dishes in the main dining room change daily and I had a hard time decided what to order. There was a buffet as well and food ala carte for lunch and dinner. The chef is from India and for lunch one day he offered an Indian buffet. The on-deck BBQ is not to be missed...you'll be asking yourself, "how many lobster tails can i possibly eat". Skip dessert would be my advice...the apps and mains were much better. The staff in the dining room were friendly and remembered your name after the first day. So nice and accommodating. Dining outdoors at Candles was a great experience and not to be missed.

Cabin Review

Ocean View Suite

Cabin S2

We picked our cabin because it was on Deck 5 (same deck as the jacuzzi), and because it had a shower, not a tub. It was a great location. The cabin seemed huge compared to other cabins we've had...i enjoyed relaxing on the couch and watching the world go by. The bathroom with 2 sinks was great and the walk-in closet was a nice addition.

Port Reviews

Katakolon (Olympia)

We did Olympia on our own. We hired a taxi driver ahead of time who sent someone to meet us at the ship. We toured Olympia on our own, and then we were taken to Kleo's Farm where we learned about bees and sampled Greek treats made with honey. Very authentic and not touristy.

Kotor

A beautiful place. Small enough to walk around the whole town. Be sure to save strength for the hike up to the fortress. The steps are not even so be careful. We did a free tour of the small market with the chef which we enjoyed.

Dubrovnik

It's a lively place with lots to see. We walked the wall, around the town and then had lunch in town.

Hvar

It was a rainy day but we hiked up to the fortress and then had lunch at a waterfront eatery that was recommended by the ship. It was expensive but good. You can purchase lavender products from the stalls near the port but you'll see them again in other Dalmatian ports.

Venice

Venice is so crowded. I wish we went to the islands instead of walking around town.
