My husband and I chose this cruise due to being invited by our uncle/aunt who cruise a lot. We had very limited experience with cruises and high expectations of this cruise. We were very thankful we upgraded to a balcony, which made coming into ports extra special. The following are the pros and cons of our trip. Hope they are of help to others considering this cruise.

Pros: Service and cruise staff, specialty dining restaurants, a few of the entertainment shows, meeting others on the ship, third party port excursions (Viator) and port destinations.

Cons: The rock hard bed & pillows were unbearable (ask for a mattress pad, which helps slightly); one week into the cruise, it seemed like most people were coughing and transmitting cold/flu viruses (think movie Contagion), which both my husband and I caught. Just to cap the trip off at the end, we both got the 24 flu bug on the last sail day and didn't get to see Venice.
