Norwegian Sun Cruise 9/30 to 10/14/16
Panama Canal
Easiest transfer from San Diego airport to cruise port. My flight arrived on time, I had purchased transfers through NCL. Retrieved luggage and immediately an NCL representative asked if I was cruising with them, yes I am, and I am on a bus to the port. At the port our luggage was left on the bus to be driven to a location to be placed on the ship, didn’t have to touch it.
Cabin 5212. I have never had a cabin below Deck 7 on any ship I have cruised on, that is about 25 cruises. I was really worried about being on the deck that the Atrium and Guest Services were located. When I came onboard I discovered my room was only 3 doors down from the Atrium. Yes, there was noise but only from the music in the Atrium Lounge. Very few passengers went by my door because there were only cabins passed it. I was within 20 steps of several elevators. It was huge, an accessible cabin, it had 2 closets, many storage shelves and bins, a desk, chair and couch, and a very comfortable king size bed with 6 pillows. I loved the cabin.
The port was one of the easiest I have ever embarked from.
Absolutely nothing at the port but two shops. I took the Safari Drive Through, again it was over 95 degrees and the humidity was 95%. It was a good tour but too hot to walk around the safari grounds.
