Since there were so few reviews on the Fascination, I planned on writing this as soon as I returned.

Now I realize that the reason so few reviews exist, is that there really isn't much to say. It is a basic ship in basic shape for a basic cruise. Not great, not awful. If you want something fabulous this is not the cruise. It was also my first cruise so I did not know what to expect. I was hopin to love it, I didn't. If you can get a good deal, give it a try.

I booked before I found this site and then started reading lots of negative reviews. I was a nervous wreck to get on the ship. I was prepared for the worst but it wasn't bad. It is an older ship, but it is in pretty good shape. If black lacquer, mirrors and glass don't bother you you'll be fine. If you think it's "out dated" you will not be happy. The cabins (we had a balcony) have been up dated from the casino/mardi gras look shown in the catalog. They now use fluffy white comforters. The bathroom could use a make-over, it was oldish and rusty.
