As a frequent cruiser of Carnival cruises I have to say that the Carnival splendor was the worst cruise experience I have ever had! To begin with, arriving at the port of Miami was nothing but mass confusion as we were shifted around to numerous places before boarding. As a priority cruiser there should have already been a designated area for this class! Instead we were taken downstairs, upstairs, across a hall to another location, then had to climb stairs to to another location to board the ship, plus no opportunity for boarding pictures or anything else. The level of disorganization was phenomenal!
Once on board, we headed to our stateroom, which was nice. Our cabin stewards were friendly, however, cabin service was horrible! What I mean by this is that on prior cruises, we had wonderful turn down service and steward service, and this has been on other Carnival cruises! I have nothing positive to say about our dining room service either! Our first night in the dining room was a total disaster as our host were completely unorganized and seriously lacking! The hosts forgot desert items requested as well as coffee for several cruisers in our party of 10!
We asked for a table changed and received it! The next table was better, but the hosts seemed to be very unorganized! The food is a different story, as our entire party found it mediocre! It was not up to par as prior cruises experienced. I mean, who asks for a side of broccoli and gets served two tiny florets! Absolutely amazing!
Cabin good, service poor!
Was ok!
Safety concerns were a big issue, never really left the cruise area!
