This was our first cruise ever. It was a gift from me to my husband. This was perhaps an extremely challenging cruise for all onboard being that we were facing rough seas due to 2 hurricanes. First, it clearly states that you should be at the port at least 90 minutes early for circumstances such as this. Maybe 10% did not make the ship because we needed to leave 1 hour early due to the Chesapeake Bay closing. I was on deck 4. Yes it was very rocky. I did see the motion sickness bags available. All areas that had outside access were blocked for passenger safety when the Seas got really rough. This cruise itinerary was changed a few times from Bermuda to Canada and finally to New Jersey because of the rough seas. I did not see much water leakage at all in the areas where I was. I was NEVER confined to my room.
It was a concerning situation, especially since it was my first cruise, however I felt RC handled it well. After seeing what weather did hit Bermuda I would say that RC made the best decision they could other than possibly cancelling the cruise. NYC was gorgeous weather and the free ferry for the passengers was generous. Going back to Baltimore was wonderful cruising weather. Also the generosity of RC to give 100% cruise credit shows to me that they really care about their passengers.
All of the service on our ship was amazing, from Katie our housekeeper, to Andre our activity director, to Algin and Boniface out waiters, to Paul the cruise director and of course out captain who steered us into safety. I also am so greatful to Crystal Crumlic from Tripping With Crystals Travel in Mechanicsburg, PA for constantly being in touch with me when possible for land side updates.
Clean and cozy. Always kept spic n span.
