Breakaway is a great ship, when the problems are corrected.

The Breakaway is a big, beautiful ship, sparkling clean. To start with the cons, embarkation was a nightmare. This was my 16th cruise and I have never had an embarkation take so long. This was Norwegian's first 4,000 passenger ship and I don' think they know how to handle so many people. We were in a snake line that took forever to move even a little bit. It was close to an hour once we got in line to check in. My first impression was the much smaller and shorter Atrium.. When we found our cabin, I noticed differences right away.from other Norwegian Ships. The bathrooms were much smaller than the Dawn or the Jewel. The cabin itself is narrower and smaller. The balcony was also cut in size. You can barely sit with your legs in front of you, less depth and width. No basket of amenities in the bathroom.I was on a Casino Comp. No more goodies sent to the cabin a few days while you are sailing.. The Casino is a nightmare with the smoking section taking up most of the space. Definitely needs more non-smoking sections. The Pro's - The cabin steward, "Joey" (Jocito)) was great. The cabin was always clean and whatever else we needed. A pleasant, courteous rep of the cruise line.Joey went out of his way to make our cruise very memorable. The food was great. We had the 4meal specialty plan. Enjoyed mose, especially Cagney's. La Cacunia was also very good. Ocean Blue was the only downer. They served my shrimp with the heads on and strings on it. I hardly touched it, and they never even asked why. O'Sheehan's is a great spot. Really enjoyed it. Great food, cheerfull servers.
