Cabin: Interior Stateroom with Virtual Balcony

We were a group of 10, a combination of family and friends. The cruise was to celebrate one couple's 35th wedding anniversary and another's 50th anniversary. We had all taken cruises from Cape Liberty before and liked the easy access. We all live in the tri-state area.

Embarkation was a snap. Trying to find a table in the buffet was a disaster. We finally found a table outside near the pool area and brought our food there. At one point no more passengers were allowed to enter the buffet until others left causing quite a backlog of prospective diners. This seemed to be the theme of the cruise: stand in line and wait!! The lines at guest services were always long. Most people seemed to have issues with the internet. Booking excursions with the onboard kiosks seemed like a good idea but they never worked, necessitating a trip to guest services lines or hoping to find a warm body at the excursion desk along with everyone else. It was also difficult to book the ripcord or the north star pod. We did the north star and found it underwhelming. Waited in line for 30 minutes to ride the bumper cars and did have a blast!!

We had an inside cabin with the virtual reality screen. Cabin was a decent size with plenty of storage. The virtual reality screen was a wonderful way to feel like you had a balcony cabin at a fraction of the price. We had the anytime dining which turned out to be late dining every night. Everytime we tried to make reservations we were told 8:15 was the earliest available. The entire group prefers eating earlier but when we booked the only things available were late seating or anytime dining which turned out to be late seating anyway. The food was just okay. The Windjammer buffet had pretty much the same breakfast items everyday. Our favorite smoked salmon and cream cheese on a bagel was pre-made and dried out. After several requests for the salmon alone, a tray appeared on day 3. Hooray!! The quality of the food in the four main dining rooms was hit and miss, with several winners but many failures. The food was always served lukewarm.
