For the price and value of the Carnival Cruises, you get so much and after three I've never had a bad time on any of them. This cruise was out of Jacksonville FL. We left port around 5 pm and the entertainment was never ending. We often played bingo and went to the shows in the evening, and the food was always good.
While the food on a Carnival Cruise is often considered less exciting than other cruises I've never had a single complaint. The main buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner menu while not Four Star Resort food, it's certainly better than most any restaurant you're likely to just walk into. The steak and lobster in the Main Dining room was excellent as was the Prime Rib. The everyday faire of the buffet never seemed to disappoint.
I enjoyed to pro level shows in the evening as the comics were hilarious, the legends of rock show was amazing as well. Although not every show was amazing, just a personal thing about the particular music used. Shows were still well done. We got to meet the captain on formal night and he was very friendly and spent a couple of minutes just talking with us which was nice.
Cabin was... a cabin. You shower and sleep there. It's a cruise, so if you're really worried about how nice your cabin is maybe get a suite. There was always a cool little towel animal every evening and the attendant did a great job of cleaning without disrupting our stuff. The bathroom was a little dated but it worked fine and had enough room for the three of us without having to pack things up after every shower.
Jacksonville is a great town, with a great zoo, fantastic sea food restaurants and access to the best beaches.
a great time if you don't want to swim with rays and don't want to spend the whole day on the beach.
The island is amazing even without Atlantis. We had a great time seeing the sights, eating local foods and buying some really good rum. Friendly people everywhere we went.
