Brilliance of the Seas was amazing. I enjoy traveling on Royal Caribbean because I know the standards and service are always the same. I like the consistency and knowing the venues and dining rooms makes it easy to focus on what is truly important - the islands in this case in the Mediterranean. I thought the scheduling of the itinerary was well planned. We had full days on the Ports/islands and there was enough diversion on the ship upon return that allowed you to enjoy them later in the evening.

We did some tendering which was very well planned. There weren't long line ups. Once you got to the tender you boarded. We did excursions with Royal Caribbean and locals. Only one local stood out as fantastic and excellent quality. All of Royal Caribbean were well planned, except for Montserrat that was too rushed. We left the ship too late.

We went as a couple and truly enjoyed it. Taking children under 17 is a challenge because this is more of a historic journey than a fun cruise although there are pools and some fun activities on board. I will go again if giving the opportunity.

Port Reviews

Cannes

3 hrs. brief and a brisk walk through the town and local market.

Malta (Valletta)

We walked and drove - lots to see but the tour guide was not very engaging

Athens (Piraeus)

We did a local tour - tour guide stayed in his van all the time

Florence (Livorno)

This was amazing. Totally recommend to take the train yourself and get to the villages. I would love to return to this location.

Barcelona

Very good choice if you want to see the highlights of Barcelona - happy we bought the 2 day pass. There is just too much to see to get a one day pass.

Our on board experience was very good. All crew members were always so very helpful that I was collecting all their cards should i need additional information. They were prompt and answered all our questions on excursions and any other concerns. I truly enjoyed the pool in the Solarium - it is salt water!!! I loved that and wished I had used it prior to the last leg of the trip. Well...next time.
