Chose the cruise based on price and itinerary. The cruise was to go to Key West, at sea, then Nassau. Hurricane Matthew changed the itinerary and shortened the cruise by one day, so we had a day at sea and Nassau. Was very surprised at how flat the seas were leaving Miami and our day at sea. Nassau had just suffered a category 4 hurricane and was in the process of cleaning up. They were still happy to see the ships, and much of the downtown had power. Junkanoo Beach vendors were half open. Some had generators and were open for business, the Fish Fry was without power so had to depend on generators and not all had that luxury. Was skeptical when they said we were going there so soon after the hurricane, but glad we did, as the hard-working people of Nassau made it a good experience. The Empress was very nice, very clean, and had a very friendly staff. One plus was no smoking in the Casino. We usually don't go there or the Casino bar because of this. I do think the drinks were way over-priced. Not one mixed drink for less than $10. I guess they want you to buy the drink package.

Cabin Review

Cabin Inside

Cabin was small but clean and comfortable. It was in a quiet portion of the ship, and we were never bothered by noise.
