Wife and I were looking for the fall cruise to New England and went Princess, as we sailed with them 2 times before, but the mistake was the ship size. The Regal is too big! Long line to get on. Our cabin was an extended mini-suite ( just the balcony was extended) and the anytime dining was only if you wanted the first seating, or after 745. Food was great as always, but buffet was crowded for breakfast, and you could see other passengers who came up for dinner because they could not get into anytime dining. Same meal self-served in buffet as the formal dinner, with the servers in dining rooms being good at what they did. Entertainment was standard ship shows (good) and on board activities, with the comedian not so funny but the piano player was super. The excursions were Newportish, big city Boston, and Acadia National Park (Bar Harbor) was all PBS said it was. St. John, N.B.was cool, as was Halifax, N.S. where they take US dollars and give you Canadian (at current rate). HOWEVER, trying to get off the ship to go on the ship sponsored tours was a joke. Met in the theater and it took over 1 1/2 hours (first 2 days) to get going on the tours, not much faster later in the week also. This was all due to the excursion staff on the Regal Princess. They did not have enough staff or did not ever do these tasks before. It appeared they were short staffed in the dining rooms as well as the activities. Was not as great as previous Princess cruises. Would not want to cruise a large ship again, too many lines.
Top deck, Forward balcony was not good value. Too far forward, too far up, long way to go for anything. No honey, get a room lower on ship and closer to things.
market was disappointing
was all pbs said it was
