We are a group of friends who travel together every year. We thought a cruise to see fall in Canada and New England would be fun. We chose between Norweigan and Cunard based on price. We should have chosen differently. Everything costs on the boat. Prepared for that somewhat, but the price for drinks was overpriced by about 30%, plus everything, EVERYTHING gets an 18% surcharge. The gym...you have a lot of food, the equipment is good, but there is a charge for simple classes. Bingo is fun, but there is a charge. we did not utilize any of the "pay" restaurants because we were afraid of a big bill and a bigger disappointment.
Embarkation was a nightmare. So many ways they could make it easier and more comfortable. That alone made me decide no other cruises for a while. Almost two hours of standing around with long long lines even after we set the time we were coming - as did everyone. So they knew the numbers beforehand.
Our Steward was fantastic and really made the whole trip so enjoyable for us. Without him, we could have been miserable.
Cabin service was excellent.
Cabin was always clean and neat.
Toilet had flushing issues entire trip.
Adequate storage.
Bathroom and shower bigger than expected.
