This is the first cruise with this company. The food on the boat was exceptional and the staff were lovely, nothing was too much trouble and any request were dealt with quickly and efficiently. The boat however was tired and our cabin which was a mini suite was looking old and many parts were broken and rusty. Not what we expected for the price we paid. The bathroom had mould around the tiles and many of the cupboard doors would not stay shut as the catches were broken. The cabin was kept spotless but you cannot clean old and worn out.The public areas of the ship were lovely but overall very cold even the restaurant where we ate dinner was cold. Strangely the morning we disembarked to go home everywhere was very warm. The cruise was to Alaska and the ships information said the outdoor pools were heated. The water came straight out of the sea was not heated hence it was frigid and neither pools were used.A few people tried but the water was too cold.I have cruised to the Northern Cape over the Arctic Circle with Fred Olsen and the outdoor pools were 38 degrees Centigrade and were used every day.The ship had 4 hot pools all were on but only 2 actually produced bubbles the other 2 were broken.

The Entertainment was disappointing. We went to the musical night, the performers were excellent but we hardly knew any of the tunes they played. The comedian was excellent but only did 2 performances the second one being our last night at 10-30 when your bags had to be outside your cabin before 12-00.We expected quizzes both General Knowledge and pop but these were very few. The bingo cost 50$ a game which is a ridiculous price. We went once, usually you expect to pay £5 which would be maximum 10$. The table tennis was great but outside so difficult to play if it was windy.Little attempt was made to have any collective daily entertainment where a lot of people could join in as we have experienced before.

As I said the food and staff service was exceptional the rest disappointing.Getting on and off the ship was quick and efficient and the places we docked were an easy walk to the town with the exception of one Port where they were charging guests for the shuttle bus. That to me is just being cheap. The trips off the ship were very good value for money and all gave you plenty of time at the place of interest, you never felt rushed very good. However one of our trips was cancelled for a very strange reason (not enough people) we did the same trip ourselves and the train we went on was full. We are still waiting for our money back from this cancelled trip and it is not for want of trying. For me it is 200$ so no small amount.Tut tut Norwegian Cruises an easy way to make more money. The places the ship cruised were amazing and it is an amazing trip but I would not pick this boat again.

Cabin Review

Aft-Facing Mini-Suite

Cabin M1

Smaller than expected and very much in need of a total refit. Old rusty fittings and cupboard doors that would not stay shut.Cabin was very clean beds comfy but it looked old and tired.
