Panama Canal was on my "Bucket List" and having one that departed just public transit distance from my home is my first choice. I have traveled a lot on Princess and am always happy with my Princess Cruises (Souffle!!!) The service is always good. I thought the medical staff was inefficient and rude, but other than that, the cruise was all I had hoped for and more. I've seen films and pictures and read a lot about the canal, but pictures don't do it justice. To watch those locks open for my ship, and the one beside us just inspired greater awe than I had expected. I love sea days, and this cruise had six of them. Stringed quartets, fun shows, and a good lecturer who was really canal knowledgable added to the experience.

We pre-planned our own shore excursions at two of our ports, and hired taxis as private tour guides at two. I prefer to not use the ship excursions. The equatorial heat on this cruise is hard to take, but it is temporary and so nice to get back to the a/c on the ship. We had to divert from our scheduled stop at Aruba to avoid a storm, but stopped instead at Grand Cayman. Nobody seemed to be upset about this. I felt it was Princess taking care of us.

Cabin BB

The cabin was more compact than ones I had booked before, but still had plenty storage space. I need the think foam topper on the mattress to prevent pain, but I understand that these mattresses are being replaced soon. The porter could have kept the room a bit cleaner, but her service was extraordinary.
