Eurodam Extravaganza

Sail Date: April 2009
Destination: Transatlantic
Embarkation: Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades)

My husband and I with 2 of our best friends embarked on Holland America's Eurodam. We had a blast. The ship was less than a year old and it was beautifully designed and decorated. Our cabin had a verandah. The room was spacious and the balcony was perfect especially since our steward opened the  barrier on the verandah to the next room so we could share with our friends. All the employees on the ship bent over backwards to make everything just the way you wanted  it.

The food was the best ever and we ate at the specialty restaurants too. We throughly enjoyed the Pinnacle. Tamarind was exceptional......anyone going on this ship has to try it....we went 3 times! It was so wonderful. The movie theater was great.....reclining chairs and all. Wish it was a little bigger. The movies  shown were all very current with popcorn served too.  Most of the entertainment was so enjoyable.....the Eurodam singers and dancers were top notch.
We were More blessed with wonderful weather and smooth seas. We did have a problem with one of our shore excursions not actually going to one of the places advertised but we were refunded our money.
Holland America has our vote for future cruises.

Cabin review: Eurodam Deluxe Verandah Oceanview Upper Promenade 6129

Perfect except I wish there were lights in closets. Great room near elevators for the back of ship.

Port and Shore Excursions

Amsterdam was good. We did have a problem with excursion but we were reimbursed. The wooden shoe factory
and windmills were fabulous.

We loved our Cambridge excursion....the punt boats were fun but be careful of our punts crashing into you.

We went to Rouen where Joan of Arc had been martyred. Quaint town, very European.

Portugal was high on our list as we wanted to tour Fatima. We did book and private tour and it was great!
