Ship is not new, and it is most noticeable in the pool area. Pool and jacuzzi area are quite small and always full of people. Room, bath and shower size are adequate and ample. The boat departs from San Juan late at night, allowing those interested in exploring San Juan, and at least in my trip over 50% of the passengers were Spanish speaking Puerto Rican residents. Most of the people sitting on my table were first time cruisers. The island stops of St. Thomas, Barbados, St. Lucia, St Kitts and St Marteen were all above normal, each island is extraordinary in its own right. If you are a beach lover, you will enjoy this cruise. If you are a mountain, rain-forest lover, this cruise is also for you. I am a long time Royal Caribbean cruiser, yet I was impressed by the quality of food in dinner served on this Carnival ship. Lobster served one night, Filet Mignon another night, not extra $, but included in the standard cruise fare. Pizza and sandwiches in the upper deck were also good. Cruise director Maurice Marshmallow was quite amusing. Shows were just ok, but they do have a show every night. In spite of the ship having limited attractions compared to larger newer ships, overall the cruise ship is a great value considering the number of ports visited and the overall quality of food at dinnertime. Would recommend cruise to anyone looking for value. Would definite repeat.
Cabin is ample and bath and shower size ample also.
