This is a  review of the 4 night Alaskan cruise and  I wanted to do a short review, since it was the first cruise since the drydock. This cruise was from May 5th to May 9thWe stayed one night in Seattle prior to the cruise and then in the morning took Quickshuttle to Vancouver. It took about 6 hours to get to Vancouver this time. It normally only takes 4 hours. We stayed the night in Vancouver at the Renassiance Motel that was only a few blocks from the pier. It was a really nice motel. We walked down to the pier the night before the cruise and the Golden was already there. We also took in a movie at the IMAX theater right on the pier. The next morning we were told boarding was going to be late, so when we got to the pier about 1:30, they told us they would be boarding around 4:00, and that they we providing a free bus to take us to Granville Island. So we did this and it turned out to be alot of fun.We boarded about 4:30. The lines were long and took awhile to get on the ship, but it was okay. We found our cabin and then I grabbed snack. I then went to look around at the new MUTS and the International Cafe and some of the other new features aboard the Golden. This was my third time on the Golden, so some parats of the ship felt like I was on a completely different ship.We had anytime dining and really enjoyed it. We happened to run into a couple on board that we had cruised and toured with about 7 years ago on a Caribbean cruise. it was fun to see them again. Small world. Our Meet and Greet was a lot of fun. It was fun getting to know the people we had corresponded with on the roll call. While in the meeting, we saw a pod of porpoises. What fun. I also saw some whales on the last day from our balcony.Ketchikan was alot of fun. We did the Totem Park Tour and also the Lumberjack show. Both were interesting and fun. We had a beautiful day! It just sprinkled rain when we were leaving. All in all we really had great weather most of the cruise. The ship was beautiful and we had a wonderful time. It was great to see the new features they had done on the Golden. The Crown Grill was not done and also I had heard the Chapel was not done, but it just gives me something to look forward to seeing the next time I cruise on the Golden.Debarkation - we waited a little while to debark and we are glad we did. Our luggage had not even made it off the ship by the time we got off the ship, even though we waited almost a hour to debark from the time we should have. We still had to wait about 20 mintues for it to be unloaded. We had parked our car a couple of miles from the pier and we were in not hurry to leave. We had a great time and I can't wait to cruise on the Golden again. Maybe next year, as my husband said he would like to cruise Alaska again and do a 7-day cruise.
