The only reason this has three stars was the amazing day we spent cruising in Glacier Bay. If it wasn't for this, it would only be 2 stars. Firstly, we complied with all their requirements about my husbands food allergies (Celiac) and the crew (staff) were very ill informed about all food allergies. So much so, we spent the first day in port shopping for safe food.
The three ports we visited were the usual over crowded tourist traps with three ships in each small port.
I do not recommend using Holland America's transport from Seattle Airport. We were at the airport by 9.30 in the morning and we didn't get on board till 4 p.m. No stops, only for immigration. Then we found all food stations were closed.
Perfect location. Easy access to deck when something interesting to view. Close to elevators for dining and entertainment.
Take stacking luggage, no place for cases under bed but plenty of space in closet.
New Museum worth a visit
Another tourist trap
Best part of cruise, the captain showed us some exceptional scenery. Recommend going in September, another part of the bay is opened then.
Left ship and took transport into Anchorage.
Just boarded ship
