This was the first cruise for my husband and 10y old son, and my second. We just loved it and already are planning the next cruise on an oasis class ship!

I have to admit, after reading a lot of negative feedback before, I was quite nervous about what to expect. But it was really just an awesome time. The ship is huge, and yes you are not alone on this huge ship, but the people never really bothered us in a bad way. If we had to queue somewhere, there where never more than 5 people in front of us, which really is ok. Besides that, we never had the feeling of everything being crowded with people. Even on Sea Days you could easily find a sun lounger, maybe just not directly next to the pools but close enough to it.

We tried the main dining room, Chops, Giovannis, Izumi Hibachi and Costal Kitchen for Dinner and all were really good in our opinion. For Breakfast we always went to Costal kitchen - thanks to being sky class. We loved the breakfast there although you sometimes really had to wait quite a while.

Cabin Review

Aquatheater Suite with Balcony - Deck 10

Cabin A3

The Room was awesome and the perfect choice for our family of 3. We had no issue to share the bathroom, which is located in the sleeping room and even if our kid had to use it in the night it was fine. The bathroom door makes some noises but we left the door open during the night and all was fine. Our son slept on the Sofa-Bed and was very happy with it. To have two TVs in the room was also really nice.

The balcony is awesome! But at the end of the week i realized because there is so many things to do on this huge ship, we didn't use the balcony as often as we could have. So next time another cabin with a smaller balcony will be fine.

Regarding the walk to the cabin, as people complain sometimes about the location at the end of the ship: it is really not that bad! Actually we liked it because we ate way to much and like this we moved a little more.. :-)

Port Reviews

St. Maarten

We took this excursion mainly for our 10yr old son who really wanted to go with those fast boats. But at the end of the day we really had a nice time.

The boats are up to 50knots fast and really fun, but the crew always makes sure they dont hit too many high waves (would get uncomfortable if they did, so we were quite thankful they watched the sea closely and slowed down if necessary).

They have the boats just a 5min walk from the pier which was really nice. Once on board we started flying over the sea, and our son just loved it! (We too btw.. )

On the way to the snorkeling they made a few short stops to tell us a little bit more about the Island and the differences about the dutch and french part.

Once arrived at the snorkeling point we got good snorkeling gear and could jump into the water. Once again, my son loved it, however for me and my husband the snorkeling was a little disappointing as there were not really a lot of corals to see but a lot of fish. To get back into the boat they have a little stairway which I was very grateful as i hate to climb into boats without a stairway. Snorkeling was around 45min I think but it was long enough.

We then started to drive to the beach but we couldn't stop at the beach were they usually do because the waves were too high, so we then went to a different one. Again on the way there we made some short stops and the guides told us some things about the island and some beautiful houses and their owners.

We then found another beach were we could stop. Please be aware, they write on the excursion details, you will have to jump into the water and swim to get to the beach and they mean it. You can't get your bag with you, or your towel, or the suncream. You jump of the boat, and swim to the beach, enjoy some time there and swim back. This could be different usually as like i say, we couldn't stop on they regular beach, but on our trip it was like this. I knew it, but honestly wasn't quite aware of it. I really thought i find a way to take a towel with me or so, but it was still a lot of fun.

During this excursion they provide complimentary drinks at all stops, which include CocaCola, Sprite but also Rum Punch etc. You also get one of those swim wests as soon as you get on the boat and they also have everything in children sizes available (west and snorkeling gear). The west help with the snorkeling and i also wore mine to swim to the beach. Just made it a bit easier... :-)

Overall, if you love fast boats and want some easy time, i can really recommend this excursion. We had a lot of fun and the guides were really awesome!
