Our Viking River Cruise on Viking Aegir was a dream come true! Our stay in Amsterdam before the cruise was terrific! We were met at the Amsterdam airport by a friendly Viking Rep and taken to our hotel. The Viking Rep at the hotel was very helpful and informative. The Movenpick Hotel was a wonderful place to stay.

From the moment we stepped foot on Viking Aegir, we were impressed...by the crew, the ship, our room, the food in both the restaurant and the Aquavit Terrace. Our Activites Director, Dan, was so professional and knowledgeable about everything on the trip from Amsterdam to Budapest. I had sprained my ankle the first night in Amsterdam. When we got on board Viking Aegir, the Activites Director had been informed about my ankle and I was met with a wheel chair, which I used the first two days on board. Everyone was very accommodating and helpful while I was in the wheel chair and also when I "graduated" to crutches.

Our cabin was very adequate and our cabin steward was wonderful! We always had fresh water, and our room was always clean and ready for us. The shower items, body soap, shampoo and conditioners were excellent. We were impressed with all of the shore excursions and the Optional Tours we signed up for; and the guides were very infrmative and passionate about each place we visited. When it was time to disembark, a Viking Rep went to the airport with us and got all of our boarding passes for us. Thanks to the staff and crew of Viking Aegir for this very special, long anticipated River Curise. Yes, we would do it again and hope to in the next few years. We loved the whole experience. The only problem: the time went to fast.

Cabin Review

Veranda Stateroom

Cabin B

Our cabin was very adequate. We enjoyed having the veranda and sitting out there while cruising. The bed was very comfortable. And the heated floor in the bathroom was a very nice surprise! The closet and drawer space was just right for us. The bathroom, while small, had plenty of room to store bath items and the products Viking uses are top quality. We did not spend a lot of time in our room, but it was always nice to come "home" to after a busy day of excursions. The only thing we found lacking was a place to work on a laptop. Perhaps a slide out where the vanity is would be a nice addition. My husband works on pictures we have taken each day to chronical our trip. Other than that, the cabin was perfect for the two of us.
