The Grandeur of The Seas is an older ship in the fleet though it has been updated recently. She is still in need of a new paint job and cleaning in several areas.
The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The best aspects of the ship was the entertainment for this cruise, the dining, games and cabin staff and the ports of the cruise. The worst aspects were the price- which stayed high for the cruise, the constant selling of stuff and some of the places chosen to have some of the activities were very tight (mainly because of the size of the ship). The food in the main dining room tended to be on the bland side though you could get what you wanted most of the time. The menu was nothing special but they want you to go to the specialty restaurants. We did have an issue since we were placed at a table of 8 but noone else showed up. However, they added another couple who had a similar problem so it worked out fine. There was no "special" extras like a chocolate themed, late night party. The cruise director was ok but his assistant was great. There were fun, theme nights in the Centrum though it often was impossible to get a seat if you had the late dining time. Karaoke was sometimes scheduled too early for us to get to. The piano bar singalong person could have encouraged more audience participation (compared to others we have been to) and all musicians were very good.
The ports chosen were all exceptional. However, half of our tours purchased from the ship made very few stops and did not seem worth the money. The tour descriptions could have been more precise in the printout. We did have some tendering issues as their scheduling seemed off and we waited almost an hour to return to the ship.
Easy embarcation and disembarcation
Spent time with relatives. A good amount of time was spent here.
Did lots of walking. Nice city and park. Wish the leaves were turning more
