We chose the Baltic Sea trip so we could go to Oslo a week early in search of ancestral home sites (we found them!). Then we took the train to Stockholm to join the Viking Cruise. The entire experience was amazing. The Viking Star was a brand new ship and everything was top drawer. The crew was very attentive and helpful. The food - amazing. We enjoyed every city around the Baltic, but Tallinn, Estonia was our favorite.
The daily port information meetings and excursions were well planned. The ship board activities, however, were among our favorites. The forum speakers included a former Congressman and an North Sea oil geologist, both who spoke at four different sessions. The enrichment forums were held to 45 minutes, which helped us keep focus and not sit too long. The Nordic pool area, steam bath, snow zone and hot tub pools became a daily ritual. The night time entertainment was amazing. The cast and technology assist made for great production shows. And rarely have we danced 14 nights in a row, but we did this trip!
The Baltic Sea is a trip not to miss. It should be on everyone's bucket list.
Following our Viking River cruise experience, we wanted a room with a veranda. The room was very adequate in size and well appointed. The desk, refrigerator, and TV all well placed. The bathroom and shower size equally adequate
Amazing walking experience. Tallinn did not suffer WWII bombing, so much of the historical town is intact.
One big city! Not enough time to explore, but a place to go back to.
Great walking city.
The ship could dock right in the town, so walking everywhere was available.
Docked right in town and walked on our own all over town. A festival was in progress so we ate local food and enjoyed the music.
