If you enjoy cruising this is one cruise that belongs on the bucket list. Specifically the Celebrity Summit Canada and New England Cruise is simply one outstanding cruise. We were fortunate to be on the 18 September 2016 sailing of this cruise. Absolutely everything, starting with the weather was outstanding. The intinerary is perfect if you love being in the outdoors. Capt. Kate in command made it especially memorable.

First port Boston, what a great walking city. We chose to take the public transportation to Boston Commons, quick stop at the visitor's center than off on the Freedom Trail. What a great learning opportunity of the founding of our country. Walked to the USS Constitution and returned to Bostons Commons via some of Bostons scenic neighborhoods. Caught a quick small lunch at the bar that Cheers was based on. Everyone of the other ports were as equally interesting as Boston and provided many learning and sight seeing experiences. It was our first time in Quebec and the overnight itinerary provided an outstanding opportunity to experience and explore the city. It definitely is a great port city. I would be remiss to not mention that the itinerary provides a super opportunity to experience fresh New England Seafood especially the Lobster.

On this cruise the Summit provided everything I have come to expect from Celebrity, fine food, excellent entertainment and outstanding service. Dining in the main dining room provided some of the most memorable meals I have had on over 40 years of cruising. Fresh Massachusetts Lobster was brought onboard while in Boston that provided a fine feast. My two favorite meals however was Chateaubriand on one night and an outstanding Lamb Shank on another. Our waiter Walter provided outstanding service and we welcomed his recommendations each night. Thankfully the hostess pleasantly assured we were seated in his section each night even though we had select dining. We bought the specialty dining package and enjoyed a fun filled evening in Qsine and two fine meals in Tuscany. Most breakfasts and lunches were in the Oceanview Cafe that provided a superb selection to choose from for both. We did eat breakfast a few times in the main dining room that provided a more relaxing atmosphere. On two occasions I had eggs benedict for breakfast that were prepared perfectectly with an excellent halendaise sauce. As always there was simply to much great food to choose from across the ship which made it practically impossible to not over indulge.

Cabin Review

Concierge Class 3

Cabin C3

Cabin was in an outstanding location on the ship an equal distance to the main dining room or Ocean View Cafe. The room itself was equivalent to a standard verandah so I am not sure the added cost for concierge is justified. Our cabin steward was outstanding, made us feel as a special welcomed guest onboard and kept our stateroom emmaculate throughout the cruise. This cabin provided sufficient storage and closet space for this 14 day cruise. The room did appear a little worn and refreshing is probably in order. No major problems with the room however.

Port Reviews

Bayonne (Cape Liberty)

Cruising from Bayonne was one of the most difficult and costly ever. Celebrity would be well served to depart from a Florida port, lengthen the cruise a little with a stop perhaps in Bemuda. Could easily be a fine 18 day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale. As the comedian onboard said they had to name the port Cspe Liberty because who in their right mind would sail from the Port of Bsyonne NJ,

Boston

Did a fine walking tour in Boston using public transportation from the cruise terminal.s

Portland (Maine)

Very nice port, several nice opportunities to explore on your own.
