We took the Grand European cruise because it was on sale, we wanted to take a last minute trip, and we had never done a river cruise. In February we had travelled through Australia on our own ,so we're looking forward to having someone else worry about the logistics.

From the first day aboard, we were delighted. The service in our room and at the restaurant were wonderful. Each time we returned to our room, it had been refreshed. We always ate lunch and dinner in the same area so had the same two waiters. They were great. One afternoon, I asked for dome chocolate ice cream which wasn't on the menu. Our waiter brought vanilla with chocolate sauce. I thanked him, but told him I would skip dessert and maybe someone else would like this. About five minutes later he returned with chocolate ice cream which he had found in the neighboring sister ship. SERVICE!!!

All but one of our included tours was excellent. The individual transmitters allowed us to hear all that our local guides had to share. Nothing was too strenuous.

Veranda Superior

Loved sitting on the veranda while we cruised the Rhine. We were upgraded from a French balcony room. Great!
