Cabin: Neptune Deluxe Verandah Suite

We didn't want to leave the ship!! We got spoiled really fast with an upgrade to a Neptune Suite. The room provides access to the Neptune Lounge which has seating areas for watching TV, reading, or conversing, a table for playing cards/games, and serves snacks all day, as well as coffee, tea, and juice. There is also a dedicated concierge desk staffed by the most helpful individuals. Sandy and Kim were always very helpful - they arranged dinner reservations and shore excursions, as well as providing assistance with whatever request you have! The service we received from our room stewards (Achmad & Nyoman) was excellent - I'm not sure when they slept - they seemed to always be around. The furniture in the cabin was a bit dated - but she will be going for renovation soon - it was to be expected. We loved the spacious balcony - the weather was perfect allowing for plenty of use! The Pinnacle is our favorite place to eat - you cannot find a better piece of meat on board! Well worth the extra fee. The bartenders at the Crow's Nest were our favorites - they were a lot more personable than some of the others! Even though HAL recently indicated that balcony smoking will no longer be permitted - we will be back.

Neptune Deluxe Verandah Suite

Cabin SA

the furnishings were a bit dated - however she is scheduled for refurbishment in a few months - it was expected. I liked the separate dressing area with make-up console and mirror - and the extra closet space. The balcony was great - and we had such great weather. There were plenty of outlets to charge our phones (4), camera batteries (2), and tablets (2) - no need for an extension cord as others have indicated.

Port Reviews

Seattle

we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express by the airport. Their shuttle picked us up at the airport - and due to the package deal we booked - also provided transportation to the ship the next day and picked us up from the ship and delivered us to the airport upon our return. Sunny at the front desk told us how to get around on the light rail for a $6 all day ticket. Best advice ever!! Their shuttle dropped us off at the nearest light rail station and even took us to the restaurant later that evening for dinner! We mainly wandered around the Pikes Place Market area - very busy exciting place.

Juneau

You have to stop at the Red Dog Saloon - then find a local bar and chat with the residents! We did ride the tram up - great view - not sure it was worth the cost - but the money stays local.

Glacier Bay

There seems to be less glacier than the last time I was here - but we aren't in the Ice Age anymore! It is still breathtaking to see - especially when it calves!

Victoria

I cant provide a review as I stayed on the ship to pack up and have a final dinner in the Pinnacle. (the website made me give it a rating - it would not let me leave it blank) Maybe next time we will be able to stop during the daylight when I hear Butchart Gardens is a must see!!
