Visiting Parts of Europe that i had not visited before sounded very exciting.

Unfortunately the cruise up the Danube was not as enjoyable as i had hoped. The food and service on the Freya was excellent, but the view from the boat at some of the stops was disappointing. For example at one of the stops the view from our cabin was a concrete batching plant.

Other stops were usually not up to the standard of the first night in Budapest, meaning we usually stopped some distance from the town or city and needed to take a taxi to go into town. Even then the stops were for a short time as the boat was to be moved within a few hours.

Veranda Stateroom

Cabin B

Excellent except that no one explained that by pressing a button we did not have to share our bathroom visit with friends who were in our cabin.

The lady who kept our room clean and tidy did an excellent job.
