This was our first ever cruise - we normally "do our own thing" - so spending so much money was difficult to come to terms with. We had been travelling for 2 weeks prior and arrived in Amsterdam the same day as we embarked the cruise, thus it was great to unpack knowing we didn't have to see our cases again for 15 days.
There are many areas one could sit comfortably - whether on deck in the sun or in a lounge area. Staff were always on hand to provide drinks but were never over bearing.
From the outset it was clear this is a well oiled machine - professional from the top down - and yet always friendly and helpful. Kurt as the tour director had a 24/7 job and yet always showed enthusiasm and great humour. I'm sure our experience would have been lesser without his skill. The food was plentiful and catered for every taste; the wait staff although busy always had a smile and a chat.
Cabin Review
The cabin was "close" yet with the extended balcony with its table and chairs it never felt too small. Lots of cupboard space for hanging and shelves and a stocked minibar (which magically refilled no matter what you used from it). The bathroom with toilet basin and good sized shower was adequate with enough space to put your toiletries (although quality shampoo, conditioner, gel and body lotion were replenished daily). A good hairdryer was provided. We did find the doona's were too hot and removed them only using the cotton covers. And due to a bronchial infection being spread throughout the ship we turned off the aircon and left the balcony screen down about 30cm each night.
