Wanted to cruise New England/Canada and chose Carnival due to past positive cruises on other ships from their fleet. This ship is difficult to navigate from aft to mid and forward on many deck levels. Elevators noted not to stop on mid level decks when coming from upper decks i.e.: 10 or 11 or from lower decks 4-5, and noted very slow!
Disembarking in Halifax port was very poor having to wait till ship purchased excursions were boarded on their buses first, requiring a 1.5 hour wait to get off ship for self tours (car rental) which required shuttle service to pier since we could not walk the piers. Should have had 2 disembarking areas to facilitate more people leaving the ship since shuttle buses were there waiting. We lost 2 hours of precious port time due to this delay resulting in an incompletion of our personal itinerary which was long planned not knowing we could not leisurely walk off at will. Not Happy!
Plenty if not too many eating opportunities, great selection of food in dining room, and happy we were able to change from late dining (wait listed since booking) to early without a hassle. Service from all staff members was great as usual, and guest service responded to my complaint regarding port visit issues with an acceptable compensation.
With all the refurbishing done on this ship little was seen for this cabin. Lots of chipped and peeling paint around doorway to bathroom and window. Overall the cabin was spacious, clean, and attended well by our cabin steward. Mirror in bathroom had signs of wear.
New York is our frequently visited neighbor.
After many visits to Boston we still have more to see and do.
Car rental self tour enjoyed seeing sights St. our pace.
Disembarking in this port delayed 1.5 hours due to priority disembarking of ship purchased excursions which was not fair to other cruisers. Should have had more than one disembarking areas to allow others to leave ship and not lose precious port time.
