What a wonderful experience! We've been on a number of ocean cruises with various cruise lines but this was our first river cruise and our first Viking cruise. The visit to the small towns with walking tours included was a highlight of our trip. The tour guides were knowledgeable and personable and the towns were charming. On board, the service was warm, inviting, and seemed personal. The bar staff remembered our orders and preferences after the very first night. The cruise director had a great sense of humor, was warm, and friendly. She seemed to be everywhere - on board and on the tours, in the towns. Although the cabin was tiny, it was well designed with a place for all of our luggage, etc. The food was excellent in taste and variety. We also enjoyed the casual style of dress, not requiring more formal clothes as on some cruises.. We loved it all and this will not be our last Viking cruise.
The cabin was quite small but there was a place for everything. It would have been nice to have a place to sit other than the one stool and the bed. We had too much luggage but we were able to store it all under the bed. The bathroom was well supplied. The cabin was kept in excellent condition each day by the housekeeping staff.
A very charming town.
