This was our third cruise. Our first two were on Carnival in the Caribbean. We were expecting great things on our Alaskan cruise and were told by our travel agent that Princess really knows how to do Alaska so that influenced our choice.

We stopped at 3 ports, Ketchikan, Juneau and Skagway. All 3 were great and we loved the scenery and shopping. Then we had a day in Glacier Bay and a day in College fiords. We were very disappointed that the only free drink that you could get on deck on the cold days was coffee and you had to go get it yourself. The coffee that was served included a shot of booze and they charged for that. I am not a coffee drinker and was told by my travel agent that they also had free hot chocolate, but that was not true.

We chose personal choice dining. We were there with another couple, so since we like to eat early, we didn't have trouble standing in line for a seat, but we noticed each evening as we left the dining room that people were waiting in fairly long lines. We also found that the first 2 nights we chose to eat at a larger table to meet some new people and on those nights, dinner took much too long. Approximately 2 hours. The remainder of our cruise, we chose a table for 4 and dinner was at a nice relaxed pace and we were out of the dining room and on to the shows in about 1 1/4 hour. Service was not of the high caliber that we were used to on Carnival.
