I boarded the Grandeur on Sat. Sept. 24th. Boarding processes went quite smoothly. Once onboard proceeded to Windjammer as no access to rooms until 1pm. Windjammer on embarkation day is always a tad insane, and this day was no different. Food options were plentiful, and staff worked as fast as they could to turn tables for others.
Speaking of food, I will say the food onboard has definitely taken a notch up from last time onboard. Everything very tasty, and I saw when guests debated about their choices the staff brought them the other meal option so they could try both. Old school cruising is coming back on the end.
The room onboard was very clean, but you can tell she will need to go into dry dock for some cosmetic touches. balcony doors rusted in places, balconies in general all need to be re-sanded and stained.
Rooms décor updated and looks nice. Single service coffee/tea pot in room, nice touch. They had a small table and chairs on balcony but would have preferred at least chairs with foot stools to be able to sit out an sun on private deck if one wanted too. The need to put a sliding shower door in, as you will be attacked by your shower curtain every time. Need the tv entertainment system updated. This ship does NOT have interactive TV's to check on bills, get movies on demand. Limited channel service. Overall room was comfortable.
I went to Horseshoe Bay again. I used the local mini bus to the beach, but then called Helen cab #1214 for a private ride back the pier. She is awesome. Met her in July when family was on Anthem to Bermuda. Highly recommend her for personal tours, driving needs. In Bermuda all the cab drivers know each other, and Helen is the only one they all know!!
