We embarked in Copenhagen with no trouble at all everything went smoothly, the staff were friendly and helpful, the ship was lovely and clean but a bit of updating is needed here and there. The Aqua Restaurant needed a fair bit doing to it, the chairs were showing plenty of wear and there was quite a few cracked floor tiles, we only ate there once, I ordered a duck dish and got a poached fish when I complained the waiter said try it anyway which I did, it was very good but then they brought out the duck and were surprised I didn't want it. The main dining room was excellent the staff were super friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The only complaint here was the menu didn't change a lot but the food was very good. The cabin was nice and clean and we were well looked after by our cabin steward. Entertainment was a hit and miss some of the acts were great others not so the ship dancers and performers were excellent as was the band.

The itinerary was really good we didn't do any ship excursions. Warrmunder is a lovely fishing port with lots of fish merchants selling there smoked fish and herrings wonderful, We went into Rokstock on the train but really you're better of staying in Warrmunder. Tallian was a real surprise lovely old town with narrow streets old buildings with lots of history. St Petersburg was terrific all the palaces and wonderful gardens we went with SPB tours they were excellent. Hellsinki wasn't that much did the hop on hop off bus. Stockholm was also a surprise it took four hours of sailing pasted all the islands to get to the city lovely, nice city again hoho bus. This was our fifth cruise with NCL and one of the best, the captain and all the staff were great. Disembarkment went smoothly we used the ship,s shuttle to the airport left our bags outside our cabin the night before and picked them up at the airport super easy.

Port Reviews

Rostock (Warnemunde)

Warnemunde is a lovely little town with tourist shops and restaurants also a lot of fish mongers selling smoked and pickled fish beautiful, we took the train into Rostock it was ok but really you're better of staying in Warnemunde.

St. Petersburg

The palaces in St Petersburg are everything you'd except and its hard to describe the wealth that was spent on these places. We went with SPD tours for the two days and they were excellent.

Tallinn

Now this was a great surprise walk from the ship to the town only takes ten minutes lovely old place caught in a time warp, old buildings narrow streets great restaurants we had a schnitzel there that covered the plate cost 11 euro and 4 for a large beer. A stone wall surrounds the city and its worth the walk up the steps to see the view.

Helsinki

Helsinki not much doing here ,especially after St Petersburg just did the hop no hop off bus, keep your receipt because you'll get a discount if you use the same company in Stockholm.

Copenhagen

Copenhagen is lovely city with lots to see but very expensive, also be very careful there are thieves every where my wife,s purse was stollen from the backpack just outside of our hotel, we never felt a thing. There are no police on the beat anywhere and when we went to report the crime the police station was closed, it was 3.45 in the afternoon they close at 3.30.

Stockholm

Lovely clean bright city, the sail in was spectacular it took the ship four hours to get pasted all the islands and into the city.
