Got back last week from the last Jewel of Seas sailing, April 24, through Panama Canal.  While nothing could stop us from having a great time, there were a few issues that were inconveniences.  If anyone needs a hotel,  I would definitely recommend the Marriott Biscayne Bay for a pre-cruise hotel.  This was my 5th cruise and the 4th with RC.  We arrived at the Port around noon and were onboard in no time.  We were in a D1 cabin on Deck 10 - No.1588.  Three of my bags were outside my stateroom by 2:00pm.  The 4th was officially declared lost around 11 pm by our cabin steward and we were advised to go to Guest Services and file a report.  I was pretty upset because it contained all of my shoes and our formal wear, but resigned that sneakers or slippers would have to do. Guest services was sypathetic and issued free tux rental, etc.  Ironically, when we got back to the cabin around 11:30 pm my bag was there, obviously delivered to the wrong cabin although my correct tags were attached. Our major problem was the noise from the Windjammer.  The family jokes that my husband can sleep through an earthquake (and he has) but he was jarred awake repeatedly.  It was like trying to sleep under a bowling alley but in reality it was the Windjammer dishwasher/service area.  Constant noise 22 hours.  I even tried using earplugs.  The Windjammer manager did admit that this is a repeated complaint with this cabin.  By day three it was becoming intolerable and I asked again to be moved to another cabin on any deck.  A sympathetic guest service manager moved us to Junior Suite 1096, Deck 10 and not far from the rest of our family.  Also, our liquor from Columbia never made it to the new cabin even though I specifically advised Guest Services and both cabin stewards.  It was replaced with something better! Then the bags - I paid for the luggage valet service and have utilitzed it on my past cruises.  Never made it on the plane.  I was actually told by a bag rep when I got home that I "abandoned my luggage in Miami".  After repeated calls, I was finally told that 5 guests luggage never made it to their planes.  Our luggage arrived 3 days later by UPS ground and thankfully everything was intact - including the liquor.  All the proper tags were still attached.Did we have a good cruise?  Absolutely.  It was wonderful.  Food was excellent.  Our servers and cabin stewards were great.  The Panama Canal crossing was spectacular. We made new friends among passengers and cruise staff.  I did waste a bit time at guest services but everything was handled to our satisfaction.  The Jewel is a beautiful ship - just not cabin 1588.  Joan
