We heard a lot of things about Norwegian Cruise Lines and after having a horrible cruise on Carnival Valor last year, wanted to try a different line. I want to caveat this review by saying we were in a Haven presidential Suite for this cruise, so we did not encounter some of the same issues those in non-Haven cabins have mentioned. For example, we never ate at the buffet or Manhattan Room, Savor or Taste. We did eat at Moderno, la Cucina, Ocean Blue and Le Brea. Most of the time we ate in the Haven dining room. A couple of times we ate at O'Sheehan's. Even though the specialty restaurants I mentioned were very, very good, the Haven dining room was the best of all. Not just the food, but the service was 5 star! We also enjoyed the great bar service we got at the haven bar versus some of the other bars we visited.
The Haven courtyard was a fantastic place to spend time. very calm, and snacks and drinks offered all the time. We met several people on this cruise who were also Haven guests, and some who were not, and all seemed to be enjoying the cruise immensely. It was well worth the extra cost.
The Haven concierge (don't know if I should mention his name) made sure we had everything we needed and would even check on us when we went to a specialty restaurant to make sure we were taken care of. Embarkation took minutes because we were processed through the Haven staff. Debarkation took even less.
Outstanding room on the aft of the ship. Over 375 foot balcony made it a great place to relax. No movement and no noise from the clubs up above. Bed was very comfortable. Steward Ryan and Butler service was fantastic!
