We have just returned from a 9-day cruise on the Anthem of the Seas. The ship was beautiful and all the artwork around the ship really enhanced it. We don't cruise that much but wanted to try one of the larger ships this time and we came away with mixed feelings. As so many have noted you had to reserve everything so far in advance or else you were out of luck. We could only get an 8:30 p.m. dining time...but learned that there were ways to navigate around that. Our two biggest complaints were the quality of the table service and the non-enforcement of the formal dress code in the Grand. First let me preface this by saying I thought the food was very good and I enjoyed the different restaurants and the choices presented. You are assigned a waiter who follows you around to each restaurant. Ours was either totally overwhelmed with too many tables or not very good. All the assistant waiter seemed to do was float around from table to table filling water glasses. Twice I had to ask to have dirty plates taken off the table. One time I had a collection of 3 dirty plates on the table. One night we had our dinner before we barely sat down...the next night we waited a long time. Three of us got our dinner at one time...the other had to wait for theirs. It was very disorganized. The formal dress code at the Grande was a joke. We dressed up and people came in wearing jeans and flip-flops. One person told me that one couple brought their children in there wearing pajamas. !! Is it formal or is it not????

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

The cabin was very nice and the bed was comfortable. There was plenty of storage space for our clothes, etc.
