Sail Date: Sep 2016
Cabin: Balcony

Our second trip on QE and Cunard once again delivered a fantastic voyage. Long may Cunard NOT offer an all inclusive drinks package - even though my husband likes to drink but the lack of such an offer does seem to maintain the high standards on board. We had a standard balcony cabin, the same one as before 6211 which was right at the end of the corridor to the back of the ship. Beautifully quiet as no-one passing by and the 2 cabins at the rear of the ship are Queens Grill Suites. Its a bit of a walk from the lifts, but we preferred it. Cabin was lovely, light and bright and modern in decor, lovely linens and spotlessly clean. No bath, just a shower cubicle but very nice shower-room with nice toiletries too. We loved this ship the first time we sailed on her, and were equally impressed on this occasion, so much so we have booked again for 2018. If you cruise only once in your life and enjoy luxury, great live music (big band), ballroom dancing and a generally relaxing atmosphere, then make Cunard your choice. You will not be disappointed.

Cabin BD

Very pleasant, aft of ship, has a shower room (no bath) nice sink unit, smart toiletries. Kept spotlessly clean. Good size balcony. Small sofa.

Port Reviews

Lisbon

Its an easy walk from the dock. Nice easy city to walk around and plenty of shade. Public loo in the main square (by the river.)

Madeira (Funchal)

Love it. Never been to Madeira before but totally fell in love with it. Easy to walk around. Go to the Mercado too, great leather bag stall in there and the fruit - fabulous! Also walk through the park opposite the dockside. We had an overnight stay here so were able to enjoy 2 days in this lovely place.

Las Palmas (Gran Canaria)

It is what it is, typical Spanish commercial holiday fare. Was here 34 years ago and not much had changed, the prom had been re-laid with new paving and railings, and the traffic thankfully taken out of the city and now runs down a new external road alongside the water. In itself a great improvement, but the city is still dirty and shabby. The new shopping centre by the port is very nice though.

Lanzarote

Such a pretty place! Low rise buildings and all white. Shame it was Sunday and most were closed, but the main street was open with some good bargains. Would like to return some day.

Seville

3rd time to Cadiz and still love it. Fantastic market, great city and lovely people. Look forward to returning again in the future,
