Our booking for our thirteenth cruise was done seamlessly through Vacations to Go. Booking shore excursions and amenities, prior to the sailing, through the Celebrity site was frustrating. On each occasion one was required to enter the same information to gain access. I don’t understand why the booking number wouldn’t have been sufficient. I found the website layout cumbersome and confusing. We were able to locate the docking location through the internet and thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to Amsterdam. We walked to the ship from our wonderful B&B, Barangay. Our check in was rapid and efficient as we preregistered and arrived early with Elite members, also a retired couple.
Our stateroom was tastefully decorated, clean and well stocked. Our room steward, Alex, was very accommodating. Perhaps, the couple extra dollars each day was the incentive.
We find the Celebrity ships attractive, easy to find our way around and with unique features, like glass blowing or real lawn to bowl on. One doesn’t see slightly worn or soiled carpets, use towels with frayed edges as we have experienced on the sister company, Princess. The common areas of the ship are impeccably clean. A full time attendant at the washrooms near the main dining room, is a thoughtful service that we haven’t experienced with any other line. We felt we didn’t have sufficient time to enjoy the features of this wonderful ship.
Walking tour on our own. Enjoyed ukulele festival and a pint with locals in open air pub.
On our own, rode train to Glasgow, used Hop On Hop Off, toured Riverside and Kelvinggrove Museums (awesome). Street vendor fish and chips; cheap and tasty.
