First of all I love to go on cruises and I thought what a better way to show my daughter the beautiful islands of Hawaii and never have to unpack during the 7 days. Plus I like not having to go to the airport and fly from island to island. No hazzle of having to go thru TSA or have to shop for a hotel in each island. I also love the convenience of having so many choices of dining on the Norwegian Cruise Line and being able to eat when I want to. The embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly for us. We were on board and in our cabin within 3 hours after embarkation. Even though the ship was older, it had recently been renovated and everything looked new. In every port, I saw the crew constantly keep the ship in good condition whether inside or outside. We had excellent service from our room steward to the serving staff in all the dining areas. We ate at most of the speciality restaraunts as we had a dining package and loved everyone of them. The free restaraunts were also very good. I only went to one of the entertainment activities because it I was too tired to stay up that late. I really enjoyed the show " Oh What A Night". We went on many shore excursions and used Roberts for most of them. They all were very good. My cabin was an obstructed ocean view and it was spacious for two people. I did not have much of a view but did have sunlight which was nice. I trually would recommend this cruise to anyone who wants an easy way to see the islands

Cabin Review

Obstructed Oceanview

Cabin OK

The cabin had two twin beds with 2 tables between them. There were adequate drawers on both sides of the cabin for us to put all of our suitcase items. The closet had adequate storage for hung items as well as shelves for other items. The view was obstructed by two lifeboats which was not as described by NCL but did provide sunlight. Bathroom small but I had no trouble moving around in it and shower was small but I am large and had no difficulty. There was not a lot of room on the counter for much and my daughter and I had to keep moving items so they did not get wet. There were enough outlets for us to both be charging cell phones plus plug in my CPAP machine. Overall I was very satified with the cabin with the exception of the step up to the bathroom. I have a balance problem and was afraid of falling practicularly during the night.

Port Reviews

Kona (Kailua Bay)

We took the tender to Kona and walk some and took taxis some mostly doing shopping and ate at Kona Brewery. The island had lots of shops and restaraunts and was a good place to take it easy for a day. Did not like the tender though cause I was afraid of falling in the water but the staff were very aware of my anxiety and made sure that someone was in front and behind me.
