My wife booked this cruise for us and our two children from Sydney to the South Pacific islands during September. We had been on a cruise to New Zealand the year before on another shipping line and it was worthwhile seeing the differences in the features and offerings.

The Pacific Pearl is one of the older ships in the P&O fleet and is showing some of her age. The carpets, walls and Decor are a little worn but overall still very acceptable for the 10 day break. The ship is in need of a refresh but this did not distract from the many positives that the Pacific Pearl has to offer.

Our cabin had sufficient room for a queen sized bed, small table, closet, and cleaning facilities. The shower and toilet area were of a decent size, a little dated, however clean and tidy. The cabin staff were attentive, with cleaning and maintaining the cabin area occurring three (3) times a day.
