Selected Thomson on advice from friends and family for our first cruise. We had the drinks package which was excellent value. We booked online and did read some poor, reviews before booking and some awful ones later. How wrong we were to accept them. There is nothing we could suggest to improve on what was a truly wonderful holiday. I briefly summarise:-

The Ship. Not the tired rust bucket I was promised, indeed I was pleasantly surprised how well she looked considering her age and exposure to the elements. No impressive features to dazzle the guests but what did impress was the almost constant polishing and cleaning. Majesty presents well. The two main pools were small, but adequate, we didn't check out the kids pool area. At 40,000 tonnes, she is a small ship but punched above her weight being well laid out. Always found seats on pool deck, and sunbeds when required.

Cabin. Standard outside, yes small but we adapted and found it more than adequate with a comfy bed and compact but functional shower room. Very clean and well serviced.

Cabin Review

Midships near to stairs so quick and easy access to facilities on all public decks. Adequate for a couple with enough storage, some drawers unused. First thoughts were it was too small but on reflection it was fine, I could put the extra money for a 'plus' cabin to better use. Good view outside with only a davit for an obstruction - we were aware of the possibility. Very quiet, comfy bed, good night's sleep.
