Good, but NCL has ruined cruising with added fees and nickel and diming.

The NCL Escape is a great ship. Too bad NCL has ruined cruising on their line.

We were in a front facing ocean view cabin and it was LOUD. There was something going on above our cabin at night and in the early morning and it kept waking us up. The room was comfortable though with plenty of storage. The cabin steward was friendly and adequate. The room was never as clean as it could have been. There was dust on the shelves in the bathroom and long the top of the picture frame on the wall. The carpeting was never vacuumed the entire week we were there. Other than those few issues, the cabin was fine, however, it was a LONG walk from the elevators to the front of the ship. The Escape is so long, that there should have been another set of elevators at the front of the ship, instead of just the ones midship and aft.

The ship itself is nearly perfect, with a few exceptions. The Escape was missing Club Bliss and the Ice Bar, both popular on the Getaway, Breakaway and the Epic. Not sure why they nixed these bars. The ship is stylish and classy, but not gaudy. It is easy to navigate with maps all over the place if you get confused. The Escape theater, the main theater on the ship is really basic and plain compared to other ship's main theater, however, the shows were fantastic. Both After Midnight and The Brat pack were excellent Broadway shows with very good talent. The Frankie Valli show in the smaller theater, as well as the magician/comedian were also very good.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Stateroom with Large Picture Window

Cabin OA

As stated above the cabin was noisy at night and in the morning and it could have been cleaner. There was dust on the bathroom shelves and the carpets never got vacuumed. Room steward was otherwise very good, friendly and helpful. Also remember to bring an old keycard or other credit card sized card to place in the slot by the door. Otherwise, you have to leave your cabin card in the slot in order for the lights to come on.

Port Reviews

Miami

Miami is a great city with many unsafe and rundown areas. Be careful and stay in tourist areas only.

Tortola

The Baths are a must see. Don't miss them, but do them on your own, not on a ship tour.

St. Thomas

If you've done St. Thomas many times like we have, take a short ferry ride to St. John. they are great beaches, hiking and snorkeling there.

Nassau

Nassau is not safe, even in tourist areas. Many guests didn't even get off the ship. Personally, we've never had a problem there and always have a great time there. Visit the Queen's staircase, the fort and Atlantis for a full day of fun.
