We decided to go on a Rhine River cruise after having had a wonderful experience with Avalon on a Danube River cruise two years ago. This cruise on the Rhine River was everything we hoped for and more. The Avalon Felicity is a great rivership for cruising, and more importantly, its crew and staff were just super. Meals were quite enjoyable, with excellent, friendly service. Entertainment on-board was also entertaining and fun. For example, one evening we were entertained by a string trio (two violins and a guitar) who put on a superb performance of classical and ethnic music. They received three standing ovations from everyone in attendance! Our guided shore tours were well organized, with friendly local tour guides who provided much interesting information and history on the sites we were touring, often with fun and humorous sideline stories and local legends as well. Thanks to a very well-trained crew and staff, the process of moving our luggage into our staterooms went very smoothly, and our disembarkation went equally well at the end of our cruise.
