We chose this cruise for the itinerary. Easy non-stop flights from ORD and 3-4 days pre-cruise in Copenhagen. There was a consensus in our group of 9 that the food was excellent. Dining room service warm, friendly and attentive. Ship activities and amenities were very good. Beatlemaniacs was one of the best cruise shows that we have ever seen.

The negatives are few but noteworthy: the up-selling is non-stop, you have to feel comfortable saying no on any cruise however Princess has taken this to new heights and they simply need to scale it back a notch.

Second, ship tours are horrendously over priced. We used a local company in St. Petersburg for less than half the ship cost and had 16 people on our little bus. The Princess tours that we ran into had over 40 pax with one guide. Embark and debark were simple and fast.

Cabin DE

The handicap accessible room was an upgrade we were happy to receive.

Port Reviews

Copenhagen

tons to see, get the Copenhagen card for museum entrance and public transportation, well worth it and it includes the canal rides!

Oslo

Had a great small group tour of the opera house, well worth it, great architecture, book tour at the opera house site, hoho bus was great

Berlin

We did a tour with SPB - it's a long day - 2 plus hours each way - but excellent guides and great price when comparing the ship tour

Tallinn

easy walking tour from ship, great medieval city, don't miss the Russian orthodox church

St. Petersburg

We did the 2 day Treasures Of St. Pete tour with SPB. Totally professional, Ludmilla our guide was excellent and Vladimir our driver was great. We were able to add a supermarket stop AND a stop at the St Pete synagogue in addition to the listed stops. Was a great bargain compared to ship and NO VISA required. Your tour voucher is your visa and you present it with passport at customs and in ten minutes you are through and the SPB guide is right there waiting for you. It could not be simpler. This tour includes the Faberge Museum which was well worth it.

Helsinki

Used the hoho bus and were happy we did. Stone church is a must see. We also enjoyed the sculpture park and the museum of modern art.

Stockholm

We were concerned about this port given the distance the ship dock is from the city center. There were two competing hoho bus companies with several buses lined up. A 45 min ride into the city and clear instructions about where to meet the return bus and we were good to go. The palace, museums and opera are right there, and a canal boat ride was a block away and included in the bus fare. Too much to see in one day. It's a must see and also a must return.
